One of four famous legends, Butterfly Lovers has been passed on through the ages as the most enchanting and poignant love story in China. Its heroine, Chu Yingtai, is a well-bred, high- spirited young lady who disguised herself as a man in order to go to school. Her love for her classmate, Liang Sanbo, and their ultimate tragedy, is not just a Chinese version of Romeo and Juliet; it embodies the essence of love: honor, respect, and sacrifice.
The butterflies have been fluttering throughout China for thousands of years. Now, they have crossed the ocean and landed here - to beguile us, to entice us, to enlighten us. And you are invited to share their story and reminisce with them.
